Movement Heals – Joseph H. Pilates
Balanced BodyWorks, the premier PILATES studio on the Treasure Coast, officially opened in 2000. A family owned and operated business, Cecilia Serra and daughter Anna Snyder are both trained in the classical and post-rehab Pilates systems, bringing a combined 68 years of teaching experience in fitness, dance, and Pilates.
Due to the popular demand, three studios are now active: a group class studio fully equipped with all traditional Pilates apparatus from Balanced Body; a movement studio with a floating Marley dance floor which absorbs the impact for the joints used for Adult Ballet, Pilates Mat, Progressive Ballet, and Functional Training; and a third studio is designed for private and duos Pilates sessions including a massage therapy treatment room.
Balanced BodyWorks offers private, duos, and group sessions for all ages from teens to seniors. All levels welcome from beginner to advanced with specialized training for particular and restorative needs.
Adult Ballet is offered for anyone who wants to experience classical ballet technique – no dance experience required.
Anna Snyder is a licensed massage therapist since 1997– trained in ART- Active Release Technique, AIS-Active Isolated Stretching, Kinseotaping and Blading (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM)) with Rock Tape.
Balanced BodyWorks is excited to expand services with AlbiFit Fitness Studio, using Functional Training Program (TRX) (bosu, weights, kettlebells, resistance bands, etc.). One-on-one personal training with a certified and experienced personal trainer is now available.
Also new to BBW is the Ahmad Method of Yoga. This practice is physical, yet healing, and is unlike other methods of yoga. Ahmad specializes in “core opening,” spinal decompression, and release of muscle tensions. It is a customized movement with one-on-one support to heal the body-mind connection.
Runity is a program founded by Brent Anderson, Blas Chamarro, and Juan Nieto in 1992 that provides technological and human interventions that improve the safety and enhance benefits of running. This is achieved by applying the principal movement efficiency by significantly reducing harmful forces that cause injury or prevent one’s ability to enjoy the movement form of running.
Another program offered by Balanced BodyWorks is the highly anticipated Progressive Ballet Technique (PBT) created by Marie Walton-Mahon. PBT is a fusion of Pilates and ballet linked together to create a conditioning program for children (boys and girls) and adults. PBT classes are taught by instructors certified by Marie Walton-Mahon creator of Progressive Ballet Technique.
When starting any exercise program, it is suggested that you consult your physician.
